Philanthropy

Eagles in Action

For the 2017-18 school year Eagles in Action will be supporting different philanthropic organizations.  We understand that it is not possible for all families to give every month, but we hope you can pick a month or two to share your generosity.

Thank you for your support!

Monthly Focus for 2017-18

November

  • This is the first of our monthly philanthropic projects for the 2016-17 school year.  We will be collecting non-perishable food items (canned food, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, etc.) for Feeding America: Orange County (Second Harvest Food Bank).  You can donate your item(s) in the bins at the Fall Festival.
  • Collection date: Thursday, November 9(Fall Festival)

April

  • This month we are trying something different.  In honor of Earth Day we will be having a beach clean-up day with the SurfRider Foundation.  Beach Clean-Ups are usually a 4 hour window (8:00-12:00), but you are welcome to come & stay for as long as you can.  Kids of all ages are welcome (kids need to be accompanied by an adult at all times for safety).
    • Message from SurfRider: "In an effort to send less trash to the landfill we are asking that beach cleanup volunteers bring their own reusable bucket, reusable bag or a bag(s) from home that you would throw out anyway. Also, please bring work or garden gloves to use rather then then latex/disposable ones if possible. We no longer provide plastic gloves. Thanks!"
  • Event date: TBD
  • hsbsurfrider.org

May/June

  • This is the final of our monthly philanthropic projects for the school year.  We will be collecting used book for our annual Used Book Drive.  All Eader students will get a free book to read over the summer! The remaining books will be available for purchase (soft cover-$0.25 or hard cover-$0.50).
